Alou played only two games for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1990 before he was traded to Montreal, and played 16 Games before an injury took him out of the entire 1991 season. Alou returned in 1992, where Felipe managed him, and he was part of a rising Expos team that was robbed in 1994 of their chance at the playoffs. Alou was an All-Star that year, and like so many fabulous mid-90s Expos, he left.
His first destination after Montreal was Florida, where in the one year he was there, he was an All-Star and helped the unlikely Marlins win the World Series in 1997. Under contract for four of them, he joined the Astros, playing in three, injured in one, but an All-Star in two. The Cubs were next, where he remained a good power hitter, though it was that 2003 playoff against his former team (Florida) and the Steve Bartman ball, which will always be the highlight clip of which he will appear in the most. Alou later played for San Francisco and the Mets.
Alou had nine 20 Home Run seasons, was third in the MVP twice, and he batted over .300 six times.
Alou would accumulate 2,134 Hits, 332 Home Runs, 1,287 RBIs with a Slash Line of .303/.369/.516.
