116. The Prodigy
The Prodigy were one of the most successful electronic bands of the 1990’s, but there were many who did not necessarily view them as electronic.

That is a strange statement to say as it is clear to anyone with half an ear that this is their component, but this was a group with heavy metal attitude, a ravers’ mentality and this was a band crossed over to the mainstream, an outstanding feat considering that the Top 40 never had anything close to that before.

Arguably the best of the Big Beat bands (and unarguably the most successful), the question is were they big enough (they did make an impact in the United States) and is this a genre that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame thinks should be rewarded?  Based on how they have treated groups that utilize a lot of electronic components, probably not.

Should The Prodigy be in the Hall of Fame?

Definitely put them in! - 62.5%
Maybe, but others deserve it first. - 12.5%
Probably not, but it wouldn't be the end of the world. - 8.3%
No opinion. - 4.2%
No way! - 12.5%
