Not in Hall of Fame News

Well it appears that hell has frozen over in Titan Towers. It has been reported that former two time WWWF (now WWE) World Heavyweight Champion Bruno Sammartino has accepted an induction to the WWE Hall of Fame. The ceremony is to be held in Madison Square Gardens, the site of Sammartino’s greatest triumphs and a facility he sold out numerous times. This has to come as a shock as for years, Sammartino has spoken against the WWE (and Vince McMahon in particular) and swore in countless interviews that he would never accept the invite. Jean Paul Levesque (AKA: Triple H) had…
The more we look at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the ore we admire it. With a season long build up that ends the day before the North American sporting world is fixed on it (the day before the Super Bowl), the Canton based institution knows how to draw maximum debates with its slow elimination process. With that said, let’s take a look at the Class of 2013 shall we? Jonathan Ogden (#2 on our List) Ogden enters as a series of firsts. This is his first year on the ballot, the first man selected by the Baltimore Ravens, and the…

Buried amidst the hullabaloo of Deer Antler Spray, homophobic comments and a Quarterback who essentially called himself stupid, Donald Driver has announced his retirement. The career long Green Bay Packer spent fourteen seasons in Lambeau, making three Pro Bowl teams and amassing over 10,000 receiving yards. He was a very good player and popular star in Green Bay and is second overall in games played (next to Brett Favre who he caught many of his passes from) as a Green Bay Packer.Driver hit the 1,000 yard mark seven times and made at least one catch in 133 straight games. He…
Tonight on Monday Night Raw, the third inductee of the Class of 2013 has been named. Trish Stratus, the six time WWE Women’s Champion and is arguably the best women’s wrestler in the WWE in the last fifteen years. Stratus retired a few years ago, but has remained associated with the WWE in various capacities, working their last season of Tough Enough as a trainer and appearing at Wrestlemania in a mixed tag team match with John Morrison and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.Stratus was our highest rated female on our Notinhalloffame.com list and we congratulate her for her latest accomplishment. Today, Miami Heat Centre, Chris Bosh stated that he was “already a lock to make the Hall of Fame” and that he felt this way “four years ago”. Bosh was recently selected to his eight consecutive All Star team, although many of have stated that this year’s selection was a little suspect especially that many considered one of the biggest snubs (next to Stephen Curry of Golden State) was Brook Lopez of Brooklyn who thus far is having a better statistical season and having more impact on his team than Bosh has had with Miami.Snub or non/snub aside, if Chris Bosh…
As you already know, the 2013 Baseball Hall of Fame Ballot yielded no entries. The 2014 Ballot has three new power house selections in Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas, though none of them come with any controversy. One of those men, Frank Thomas, has gone on record that he believes he should be a first ballot selection next year. The two time American League MVP stated that the three of them (meaning him, Glavine & Maddux) “have resumes that should be there on the first ballot”. Thomas finished his career with a career .301 Batting Average, 521 Home Runs…

We were wondering when we were going to hear from Sammy Sosa. Today, on the website, Ustream.com, Sosa was asked if he felt that he and/or Mark McGwire should be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame he answer simply “I think so” and that “time will determine everything” and that he does not want to seek any controversy. We are not sure if he had an interpreter with him when he said it…..Our retro joke aside, neither he nor McGwire were even close on this year’s HOF ballot. In fact, Big Mac’s vote support has hit an all-time low…
