Not in Hall of Fame News

We mentioned yesterday that Skip Bayless told Terrell Owens that the main reason he didn’t get chosen for the Pro Football Hall of Fame was because he was viewed as a disruption to his respective teams. Now we know that was definitely the case.  On the Dan Patrick Show, Gary Myers, a Pro Football Hall of Fame voter who writes for the New York Daily News spoke about the in room discussions on Terrell Owens.   This was part of the exchange that Myers had with guest host, Ross Tucker: “I’ll take you inside the room on this, and it was…
Over the last forty-five days, both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Baseball Hall of Fame announced their latest classes.  Recently, we here at Notinhalloffame.com put together our latest list of the 500 plus Rock and Roll acts worthy of consideration for the vote that will take place in December of 2016.  Our Notinhalloffame.com baseball list is naturally next. The 2016 vote saw Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza selected for Cooperstown, both of who were in our top five.  Obviously, they will be taken out of our Baseball 100, but there will be three new eligible…
This must be the say for Wide Receivers to talk about the Hall of Fame. Lynn Swann, the Hall of Famer who was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers dynasty that won four Super Bowls and retired at the height of his career at the age of 30 and would join the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001.  Calvin Johnson is expected to retire at the same age, but when asked if “Megatron” was a Hall of Famer, the former Pittsburgh Steeler implied in a piece with the Detroit News that Johnson should not join that elite club. “I…
As you know, on his first year of eligibility Terrell Owens did not make the Pro Football Hall of Fame this past weekend, even though statistically speaking he had the best resume of any Wide Receiver who was on the ballot. This didn’t come to a surprise to us for two reasons: The first is that there has been a significant logjam at Wide Receiver for years.  Cris Carter had to wait four years.  Andre Reed had to wait nine.  Tim Brown had to wait six.  Marvin Harrison, who just got in, took three years, and it was expected by…
Last month the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their latest class for the Hall. When that happens, we here at Notinhalloffame.com have chosen to waste no time at all as we are ready to unveil a revised list of those who should be considered for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame vote in 2016. Here is how it works for us: First off, we remove the acts that have been inducted.  For reference those were Deep Purple, Chicago, The Steve Miller Band, Cheap Trick and N.W.A. Next, we add those who are now eligible for the Rock…
As you have noticed, we have been working on the Top 50 of every North American Franchise.  This will eventually lead into a look at the retired numbers and franchise Hall of Fames, which brings us to the news that the Miami Heat will be retiring the number of former Center, Shaquille O’Neal at an undisclosed date next season. O’Neal spent three and a half seasons with Miami where he helped the team win their first NBA Championship in 2006.  As a Heat, O’Neal would statistically have 19.6 Points and 9.1 Rebounds with a PER of 23.9.  He would also…
We think we speak for many professional wrestling fans in that we were hoping that this was an angle. It wasn’t. After a statement on his Twitter Account, Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan announced his retirement at the end of tonight’s Monday Night Raw in what was an emotional segment.  Bryan, who was trained by WWE Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels in the late 1990’s, was an independent wrestling darling who would become a superstar in Ring of Honor Wrestling where he would become their champion.  Bryan, would quickly become known as a wrestling machine would become a…
While it was announced by Ice Cube that N.W.A. would be performing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, another key figure has announced that he won’t be. Former Chicago front man, Peter Cetera had this to say on his blog: "Unfortunately, this scenario doesn't work for me. I know we all did our best to make it happen, but I guess it's just not meant to be…Personally, I'm frustrated and tired of dealing with this and it's time to move on." That doesn’t exactly explain a lot does it? It has been speculated that Cetera and the rest…
It was a perfect way for Marshawn Lynch to retire wasn’t it? The man who popularized “beast mode” and “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” put up a not so cryptic tweet with his cleats hung up.  Instant speculation that he had retired hit the Internet, and why wouldn’t it?  Lynch had told friends and family that this would be his last season and with the issues that he had with his back had rendered him on the inactive list for most of this campaign. If it wasn’t just speculation, the Seattle Seahawks appeared to confirm it with…
The Super Bowl is tomorrow and for Hall of Fame purposes this means one thing to us.  The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced the latest class to their prestigious institution. As expected first year eligible Quarterback, Brett Favre, has been chosen.  A Super Bowl Champion with the Green Bay Packers, Favre set numerous passing records and for years was the most recognizable player in the NFL.  Favre is a three time league MVP. The Offensive Line has seen another one of their fraternity chosen with former St. Louis Ram, Orlando Pace.  Pace is also a Super Bowl Champion…
