gold star for USAHOF

Not in Hall of Fame News

We have another significant retirement in the National Football League as former Wide Receiver, Roddy White, has officially called it a career. A first round pick (27th Overall) in 2005 out of UAB, White would become a bona fide star in 2007 where he would secure his first of what would be six consecutive 1,000 Yard seasons.  The following season, White would rattle off four straight trip to the Pro Bowl, the best of which was in 2010, where he would be named a First Team All Pro and lead the NFL in Receptions.   White ends his career with 10,863…
Well, we can’t say that this is the hardest we ever worked on an article. We will keep this one simple as once again former Pearl Jam drummer, Dave Abbruzzese, has spoken out about the induction of his former band. As you can imagine, it isn’t very positive. It is taken from a comment he made on his own YouTube channel, which was in response to a poster saying how the drummers were invited to the ceremony: “Hello, David Abbruzzese here…. Not true, the band and the hall did not invite or contact me.. The band tweeted that they welcomed…
The core of our Notinhalloffame.com has always been our sports lists.  As such, it is with great pride that we have updated our Pro Football Hall of Fame list of those to consider for enshrinement in Canton, Ohio The 2017 Hall of Fame Class added five players who we had listed (LaDainian Tomlinson, Jason Taylor, Terrell Davis, Kurt Warner and Morten Andersen), and we did not have trouble replacing them.  Actually, we have increased our 100 slightly to 103, for an impending increase in the months (ok, maybe years to come). The revised ranking is based on your votes and…
Yes, our guilt alone will tell you once again that we acknowledge that this is a very slow process! With the 2017 Major League Baseball Season underway, we are pleased to present our next top 50, which features the Milwaukee Brewers. The Blue Brew Crew has only made the playoffs four times, with only one trip to the Fall Classic, a losing effort in 1982.  Still this is a team who has produced Hall of Famers and has a healthy fan base that should see this team remain in the state of Wisconsin. The entire list can be found here,…
The UFC Hall of Fame has announced its first inductee for the Class of 2017, which is Modern Era Candidate, Urijah Faber. Faber, “The California Kid” was one of the first major draws in Mixed Martial Arts.  A champion in King of the Cage, Faber would move to World Extreme Cagefighting and would win the promotion’s Featherweight and later the Bantamweight Championship.  Once WEC merged with the UFC, he would immediately challenge for titles there. Faber would not win any championships in UFC, but would put forth stellar matches against Dominick Cruz, Brian Bowels and Michael McDonald.  Faber currently holds…
Well, this is a nice surprise! After speculation of whether or not he would even be in appearance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, former lead singer of Journey, Steve Perry, will in fact perform with his former band at their induction ceremony.  Journey’s set is to be “Separate Ways”, “Lights” and of course, “Don’t Stop Believin’”, though it is unknown as to whether Perry will be singing one, two or all three of those songs.  This will be Perry’s first performance with Journey since 1991.
We have yet to rank those who are not in the Country Music Hall of Fame, and we may never.  One thing is certain is that whether or not we rank those not included in the Hall this is certainly an institution that we hold in high regard.  As such it is considered news to us that the Country Music Hall of Fame Class of 2017 has been announced. This is not a large group, but is typical of the Country Hall, which has been established in the early 1960’s and only boasts 133 members.  The three new members forming…
Neil Young was scheduled to be a part of this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as he was pegged as the inductor of Pearl Jam.  Due to illness (as reported by the Rock and Roll Hall), the music legend will not be a part of the ceremony, but his replacement might be even more famous, albeit not in the music industry. Former late night kingpin, David Letterman will now be inducting Pearl Jam.  While this may seem illogical, there is no disputing that Letterman is a huge name in the entertainment field, and during his run at NBC…
The Misfits are not members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, however this does not mean that they will not be there in some capacity. In commemoration of the group’s first performance forty years ago at the famed CBGB club in New York City, artifacts from the band will be at display. Specifically, founding member, Jerry Only’s custom bass guitar and the leather vest are now on display.  The items are on display with other former possessions of the Ramones and the Talking Heads. For what it is worth, The Misfits are ranked #218 on our latest Notinhalloffame.com…

Tony Romo Retires

This was a little unexpected! Today, we woke up to a major retirement in the National Football League, as Quarterback Tony Romo is calling it a career and joining the CBS broadcasting team.  It was expected that Romo would continue his career and possibly sign with either the Denver Broncos or the Houston Texans and continue his playing career but this move certainly ends that. Romo lost his starting Quarterback job due to injury to Dak Prescott, but had a very good career in the NFL, playing all of his fourteen seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.  Undrafted out of Eastern…
