Antony and the Johnsons are well acclaimed band that is really Antony Hegarty (and whomever he may be collaborating with at the time). Part Baroque, part Chamber and very much drag influenced, they certainly have a uniqueness factor and have actually done well in the United Kingdom (where Hegarty was born). However, you know the deal….unless you conquer the States, the Hall won’t look for you, and the odds are not strong that they can do that anytime soon.

Andrew W.K.

His biggest hit was called “Party Hard” and damned if that wasn’t he was all about. Andrew W.K. was a throwback to the partying Metal of the 80’s with a touch of Jackass representing the new millennium. He isn’t exactly known for much else, and unless that changes, he won’t be known as a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer either.

A Perfect Circle

In all reality, unless Tool gets in, there should be little reason to think that what is essentially a side project of the band (A Perfect Circle) has any discernable Hall of Fame chance. Alternative metal in some form should get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but the current plight of regular Metal acts makes it seem so much more difficult. Now, how do we direct this back to Tool?

3 Doors Down

The first ten years of this millennium has been kind to 3 Doors Down in many ways.   They have been a constant on the Billboard charts and have been one of the few Post Grunge bands who haven’t sounded watered down. At their core, they are decent Rock band who appealed to Pop, Alternative and Metal and did so without a perceived sell out factor.   They are very much on the outside looking in at this point, but there is still time for that to change.
