Kirk Buchner, "The Committee Chairman", is the owner and operator of the site.  Kirk can be contacted at [email protected] .

Minnesota Vikings Punter, Chris Kluwe has never been shy with his opinions. He wrote “Vote Ray Guy” on his jersey patch that commemorates the Hall’s 50th anniversary. Guy, who has been universally labeled as the greatest punter ever never, got into the Hall despite being a semi-finalist multiple times. In fact, there is no football player who was strictly a punter who has been enshrined in Canton.

Kluwe called the Hall of Fame a “sham” and added that he would not “support a Hall of Fame that doesn’t have a punter in it”. He went on to say that sysyem if flawed if does not “acknowledge every facet of the game”.

Chris Kluwe raises a valid point. Punting may not be the sexiest aspect of the gridiron but it is a vital part of every football game. As such, Kluwe’s statement has some merit, as punters and kickers have never been the most respected in the game. This echoes a similar scenario in baseball where Edgar Martinez has not yet gotten into the Baseball Hall of Fame despite being the best DH of all time.

Ray Guy can only get into the Hall of Fame as a Senior Candidate now. This is still a possibility in the future, but as only one gets in annually the likelihood continues to dim

As you have noticed, we have added the 2014 and 2015 Basketball Futures. Well, onward and upward here at notinhalloffame.com and we have now uploaded the 2016 group. Now granted, this is not a very large one as we only have two players (like 2015) who will be eligible that year for your consideration.

They are:

Michael Finley

Steve Francis

As always, you know what to do! Check them out and cast your votes and give your opinions.

It seems every Baseball Hall of Famer has a position on PED users for entry to Cooperstown.  Of course, with this year’s ballot, can we really be surprised?

Recently Barry Larkin, who was inducted last year, told the Associated Press that “If you cheated you made a decision” and did not deserve to get in.  He was specifically referring to Sosa, Clemens and Bonds who are on this year’s Hall of Fame ballot and have been directly linked to Performance Enhancing Drugs.

The former Cincinnati Reds star is not alone.  Yesterday, Andre Dawson, who was himself inducted in 2010, has also stated the same.  “The Hawk” took nine years to enter the Baseball Hall of Fame.

This will continue.  Many members of the Baseball Hall of Fame have said this, and you can expect this to continue.  Our only question is who will speak out next!

We would like to congratulate Tom Cheek for entering the Baseball Hall of Fame posthumously for his work as the Toronto Blue Jays play by play announcer on radio. Cheek called the first 4,306 regular season game for Toronto and has the signature call of “Touch em all Joe! You’ll never hit a bigger home run in your life” when Jays’ outfielder, Joe Carter belted the home run that cemented Toronto’s second consecutive World Series in the mid 90’s. Cheek is the winner of the Ford Frick Award for Broadcasting Excellence. This award reminds us how much the Baseball Hall of Fame matters in the canon that is North American Sports.
