Matchbox Twenty may not be the most respected band in the world, but they did sell a ton of records and Rob Thomas has a certain popularity that keeps him in the public eye. They may be classified in some circles as an Adult Alternative band (though really more Adult Contemporary), but Matchbox Twenty had a decent run of success that could put them on the radar for Cleveland.

Ghostface Killah
Possibly the most well-known of the Wu Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah has an impressive discography that showcases his prowess on the microphone. The fans and critic agree as many of his albums sold well; virtually all of which were praised by the critics in the music magazines. Regardless, Ghostface has to be considered in the same boat as his other Wu Tang members in that their individual solo careers likely assist in helping the group get in as a whole; which frankly is how we would like to see them inducted anyway.

About as eclectic a band as there is, Fun Lovin’ Criminals did everything on the Alternative spectrum and amazingly blended it well. They would become College radio staples (although more so in Europe than the States) and found themselves a nice little niche for themselves in the world of music. OF course, a nice little niche is not what the Hall of Fame houses.

Best known for what seems like a novelty hit (Stacy’s Mom), Fountains of Wayne were actually a decent Power Pop band who has a catalogue of music that shows a decent evolution and is far greater than what the average fan perceives them as. Of course, perception is reality and that goofy song might just be the yoke that prevents them for a serious HOF shot.
