The Lone Rangers

Lone Rangers The
From the love it or hate it film, Airheads, “The Lone Rangers” were so desperate to make it in the music industry that they resorted to hijacking a radio station to get their demo played. As you would expect in a screwball comedy such as this, strange events occurred, and of course they make it (sorry for the spoiler), but time is actually aging this film surprisingly well, and with what is near an all star cast in the band, this might have a shot.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Airheads (1994)

Actors:
Brendan Fraser (Chazz Darby)
Adam Sandler (Pip)
Steve Buscemi (Rex)

Songs you might remember:
Degenerated

Why you should vote for them:
This film still gets played on cable. It can’t be that bad then can it?

Why you should not vote for them:
The band’s music was not featured that much.

Lola Heatherton

Lola Heatherton
A diva on the downswing of her career, Lola Heatherton reminisces about her past, while still thinking she is still a huge star. Of course, the fact she is in Melonville should have tipped her off that she isn’t a big deal, but on the SCTV network she is! This has always been our favorite character from Catherine O’Hara, and way better than being Macaulay Culkin’s mom.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
SCTV (1978-81)

Actor:
Catherine O’Hara

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for her:
We will maintain that this our favorite O’Hara role

Why you should not vote for her:
She was a terrible singer; although that was on purpose.

Loaded Blanks

Loaded Blanks
Do you remember when it looked like Ally Sheedy might have a successful movie career? After “Maid to Order”, neither did she. For our purposes, the only think worth remembering was Hair Metal band, Great White performing as “Loaded Blanks” for reasons we can’t remember.

Llewyn Davis

Llewyn Davis
The Coen Brothers gave us a Cannes Award winning film in the form of “Inside Llewyn Davis” which takes a look at a week in the life of the Folk Singer in 1961. Those seven days rook place in Greenwich Village, and it captured the musical scene there almost perfectly. It was inspired by an icon of the scene, Dave Van Ronk who is probably one of the most influential musicians you never heard of. This influence certainly makes the music of the film sound genuine, which is critical for a film of this type. If this gains a cult audience, we think this could be a potential contender.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)

Actor:
Oscar Issac

Songs you might remember:
Hang Me, Oh Hang Me

Why you should vote for him:
Musically, this is what you want from an inductee.

Why you should not vote for him:
This only had a small audience. Somehow, a larger fan base seems to be what this Hall of Fame should require.
