It was basically a lounge act, but it put Cameron Diaz on the map and gave the world an instant leading lady. Diaz was sultry, sexy and showed just enough acting chops to make you want to see more. We are not certain that this is enough to get her inducted, but it is more than enough to put her on the ballot.

Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld

We will go out on a limb and state that Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld may have the best chance of any South Park band for the Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but what does this really mean? The band was a gimmick with a severely handicapped front man in Timmy, who beyond smiling and saying his own name was incapable of much else. Still, the band wins a Battle of the Bands to open for Phil Collins (Yes, Phil Collins), and winds up as the headliner instead. For what it is worth, this is the South Park band with the most Rock and Roll credibility, though lord knows what that means.

From what was said to be show creator and star, Brent Butt’s favorite episode, we learn of “Thunderface”, the band that Dog River residents, Brent, Wanda and Hank had in High School. Their musical style was described as "a small animal caught in some kind of machinery," and their sole gig since 1986 was booked for comedic purposes due to the poor performance. Of note (which is huge for Canadians) this episode featured a cameo appearance by the Tragically Hip, which for those of you in the States who are not aware, is for many Canadians the most important band the country ever produced.

With brief appearances in Mr. Show and the film, Run Ronnie Run, we saw the R&B duo of “Three Times One Minus One” deliver their hit, Ew Girl, Ew. If for no other reason, they might deserve a vote just for their individual names of Pootie T and Wolfgang Amadeus Stallonies Von Funkenmeister. Seriously, do names get better than that?
