1979 SEMI-FINAL RESULTS:  Thank you for your participation in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project. If you are unaware of what that is, we acted like the PFHOF had its first class in January 1946. We have completed the years up to 1978. For “1978,” a Preliminary Vote with nearly 100 players whose playing career ended by 1972. We are also following the structure in that players have 20 years of eligibility, and if they do not make it into the Hall, they are relegated to the Senior Pool. Each voter was asked to select 25 names from…
It is with great pleasure that we have brought back the Notinhalloffame MLB Regular Cup, and let us explain how this works: For every regular-season game, we anointed the best five players with descending points, 5-4-3-2-1.  We know the following: The top players for the MLB NIHOF Cup are not always the best in the league, as injuries keep players out of games, and a premium on staying healthy can help pile up points. It also does not hurt to be a top player on an average or mediocre team, as they can amass Cup points more easily than elite…
This past weekend, the UFC announced that Mark Kerr will be entering the UFC Hall of Fame as part of the UFC HOF Class of 2025.  He will be inducted as part of the Pioneer Wing. The ceremony will take place on June 26 as part of International Fight Week. A Division I Champion from Syracuse at 190 pounds, Kerr made his MMA debut in 1997 and would win two tournaments in UFC, at UFC 14 and UFC 15, respectively.  He never competed in the UFC after that, but instead mainly competed in Pride over the next few years.  “The…
Regular visitors of Notinhalloffame.com know that we are slowly working on the top 50 of every major team in the NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB. Once that is done, we will examine how each team honors its past players, coaches, and executives. As such, it is important to us that UCLA has announced the nine-person Class of 2025. The incoming members are: Tracey Milburn Bailey, Women’s Soccer, 1998-2000.  A three-time All-Pac-10 selection, Milburn Bailey had a phenomenal 2000 Season, where she scored 13 Goals, was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year, led her school to the first-ever College Cup,…

The Red Raiders' 2025 Hall of Fame Class spans multiple sports and will be formally inducted on November 7, with additional recognition during Texas Tech’s home game against BYU. The 2025 Texas Tech Hall of Fame Class members are: Ryan Aycock,…
1979 PRELIMINARY RESULTS: Thank you to all who participated in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project. If you are still determining what that is, we acted like the PFHOF had its first class in January 1946. We have completed the first 31 years thus far. For “1979,” a Preliminary Vote with close to 100 players whose playing career ended by 1973. RIP: Jim Marshall

We lost a great one today. Former Minnesota Vikings Defensive End Jim Marshall passed away at the age of 87. A National Champion at Ohio State, Marshall left college early to play professionally in Canada for a year and was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1960.  That stint would also last a year, as he was dealt to the Vikings in 1961, and it was there that he became a superstar. Marshall went on to start the next 270 Games for the Vikings, setting a since-broken record of 283 Games Played.  A member of the famed “Purple People Eaters”,…

The College Football Hall of Fame has made a minor change to its eligibility requirements for Coaches, and while it seems like a minor one, it could see a major addition.  The Hall announced that it is reducing the winning percentage for Coaches from .600 to .595 starting in 2027.  That may not seem like it would have much of an impact, but this appears to target one man in particular: Mike Leach, who had a winning percentage of .596 (158-107) over his tenure at Texas Tech, Washington State, and Mississippi State.  He passed away in 2022 at the age…

Once that is done, we will examine how each team honors its past players, coaches, and executives. As such, it is important to us that the Denver Broncos will induct Demaryius Thomas into their Ring of Fame. The event will take place on October 19 during Denver’s home game against the New York Giants.  Sadly, this will be a posthumous induction as Thomas passed away in 2021. Thomas was Denver’s 22nd Overall Pick in 2010,…
