234. Death Cab for Cutie
One of the biggest darlings of the world of Indie Rock in the last twenty years, Death Cab for Cutie slowly built up a massive audience with a soft and bittersweet style that played with the emotional heart strings of their listeners. Coincidently, the love that they received from the Indie fans was completely rejected by another segment of the American population who seemed to reject the force-feeding of the band down their throats by the music press. Regardless of how you may feel about the band, this is certainly one of the best Indie success stories in decades; we just don’t know whether that accolade means anything in terms of the Hall of Fame
