There are a lot of shitty songs that sounded a lot like this one during this (the late 2000’s) time period. You know the type…music that wasn’t hard but pretended it was. Music that pretended to be full of angst, but is really just one big whine. Music sung by someone who looked to be anti-establishment but had the soul of a corporate shill. You get the idea. We selected this one to close off the list, as Hinder had a fairly major hit with the aforementioned “skill set”.
Lips of an Angel was an annoying diatribe about….oh who cares? Constipated looking front man pines over a girl, standard power ballad playbook ensues and a video with a lot of candles is produced. Thankfully bands such as this usually produce one hit, a few forgettable minor ones and then go on their merry way back to the bar circuit and cougars in ill-fitting halter tops. That is unless you are Nickelback, but we will save that discussion for another list on the site.
