gold star for USAHOF

23. Andre Dupont

23. Andre Dupont

Andre Dupont was traded midway through the 1972/73 Season from St. Louis and he would prove to be a perfect fit for Philadelphia.  The Flyers were putting together the “Broad Street Bullies” and Dupont would be in the top seven in Penalty Minutes five times with Philadelphia.

Nicknamed “the Moose” Dupont was tenacious in his blueline role and he was unafraid of any offensive attack or to throw down whenever necessary.  Dupont would score 177 Points for Philadelphia and had three top ten finishes in Defensive Point Shares.  Of course, the most important thing was that he was a huge help in the Flyers back-to-back Stanley Cup wins in the 1970’s.
