Easily one of the best defensive forwards for years Michael Peca would finish in the top five in Frank J. Selke Award voting every season from 1996-97 to 2003-04.  The first year of that streak was when he

Shortly after signing with the Maple Leafs he would suffer a serious injury in the 2005/06 season to Peca’s right knee would essentially end his career and he would play out the rest of the career with the Columbus Blue Jackets before retiring in 2009, though not before he solidified himself as one of the grittiest players ever to lace up the skates.
