Strong showed off every skill you need in football, with Long Island, rushing, blocking, kicking, passing, and signing with the New York Giants after Long Island folded in 1932. Usually playing at Fullback, Strong was again a First Team All-Pro in 1933, and the year later, he led the Giants to an NFL Championship win.
Strong left to play for the New York Yankees of the American Association, and later he played for the Jersey City Giants of the American Football League but returned to the Giants in 1939, where he was mostly used as a Kicker. He did that job for a couple of years, and he came back in 1944, where he again was their kicker, and he led the NFL in Field Goal Percentage in 1944. He played until 1947 before retiring for good.
Strong entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967, and he was a member of the 1930s All-Decade Team. His number 50 was retired by the Giants in 1947, and he was part of the inaugural class of the Giants Ring of Honor in 2010.
