The Guard only played 19.4 Minutes per Game as a rookie, and he nearly doubled that as an NBA sophomore where he averaged 17.2 Points per Game. Haskins built on that to have his best year in the NBA in 1969-70, where he had career-highs in 20.3 Points and 7.6 Assists per Game. Haskins was third in the NBA in APG that year and was also eleventh in Minutes per Game.
Despite the success of that season, Haskins was traded to Phoenix for little in return. Haskins developed knee problems, which rendered the transaction not as bad as first thought, but it was a curious transaction nevertheless. With the Bulls, Haskins averaged 15.6 Points and 4.6 Assists per Game.
