While Curt Simmons may not have been the stud of the Phillies roster, for a near-decade he would still finish in the top ten in Earned Run Average seven-time as a member of the Phillies and he tallied 115 Wins over his career with the team. Simmons would also finish first in the NL in FIP in 1952.
After a slump in 1960, Simmons was released, though managed to hang on in the Majors for another seven years, with rebound years in St. Louis. The Phillies selected Simmons for the Philadelphia Baseball Wall of Fame in 1992.
