Three times Leonard was a 20 Game Winner (to date the only Royal to do so), and he would also finish in the top ten in Cy Young voting twice. Leonard actually won the most games of any righthander from 1975 to 1981. With a good career record of 144 and 106, Dennis Leonard can be considered one of the unsung heroes of the folklore of the Royals and he deserves a lot of credit for their 1980 World Series appearance.
The Royals chose Leonard for their Hall of Fame in 1989.
