The Oreos

Oreos The
From the 1976 remake of a Star is Born, Barbara Streisand is that said star where she is the lead singer of the Oreos (She sings with two black women…the Oreos, get it?). The film is really about her rise to stardom and gives Streisand the chance to show off her singing acumen. This may not have been the best movie in the world, but it did give Streisand another hit album and kept her string of success going.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
A Star is Born (1976)

Actors:
Barbara Streisand (Esther Hoffman)
Venetta Fields (One)
Clydie King (Two)

Songs you might remember:
Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star is Born)

Why you should vote for them:
It had a hit song, and Streisand was good in the role.

Why you should not vote for them:
Is it just us, or does the “Oreos” seem a little demeaning?

Operaman

Operaman
Adam Sandler was one of the most successful comedians to ever emerge from Saturday Night Live and one of his most basic, yet memorable characters had Sandler perform as “Operaman”, which was just Sandler singing in an operatic voice in a wig and cape, and singing his jokes. It wasn’t exactly genius, but like most of his SNL characters it worked. Still, does an Opera character (especially one with no signature songs) belong in this Hall?

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Saturday Night Live (1991-95)

Actor:
Adam Sandler

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for him:
This was one of Sandler’s more known characters.

Why you should not vote for him:
Should this even qualify?

Omar Obeidi

Omer Obeidi
From the attempted parody of American Idol (Called American Dreamz) we have a jihadist whose singing ability gives him the ability to compete on the American Dreamz competition. His love of showmanship apparently is greater than his desire for seventy-two virgins as he does not go through the plan to kill the President of the United States who is at the finale and we learn at the end that he made it to Broadway.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
American Dreamz (2006)

Actor:
Sam Golzari

Songs you might remember:
Impossible Dream

Why you should vote for him:
Are we the only ones who have a soft spot for reformed terrorists who can sing a show tune?

Why you should not vote for him:
Look at what we typed above.

Olivia and Stewie

Olivia and Stewie
From Family Guy, we have Stewie Griffin’s attempt at musical genius when he paired up with Olivia Fuller and became a part of a two year old accumulative pair named “Olivia and Stewie” and sang for retirement homes, before they split up and Olivia became a star on her own. Do a few showtunes make a Fictitious Rock and Roll HOF candidate? It shouldn’t, but anything Stewie Griffin can’t be ignored.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Family Guy (2002)

Actors:
Seth McFarlane (Stewie)
Rachel McFarlane (Olivia)

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for them:
Family Guy has done more music than most animated shows combined.

Why you should not vote for them:
This is not a Rock act by any stretch.
