The Bang Bang

Bang Bang The
Is it safe to argue that the “Bang Bang” are the best fictitious 1970’s British Punk band that are fronted by conjoined twins?   That said, we wonder how well that the aforementioned band from the 2005 mockumentary, Brothers of the Head will do on this ballot. At the very least, it is one of the more unique entries on the ballot.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Brothers of the Head (2005)

Actor:
Luke Treadaway (Barry Howe)
Harry Treadaway (Tom Howe)

Songs you might remember:
Two Way Romeo

Why you should vote for them:
How unique is this entry?

Why you should not vote for them:
As unique as it was, how many people saw this?

Open 24 Hours

Open 24 HoursIn the quintessential (though one and done) early 1980’s Sitcom, Square Pegs, we had New Wave aficionado and budding superstar in the genre, Johnny Slash, who put together his own band, Open 24 Hours. Of note, they played Muffy Tepperman’s (Jami Gertz) Bat Mitzvah (where Devo opened for them) and had John Densmore of the Doors as their drummer.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Square Pegs (1982-83)

Actors:
Merritt Butrick (Johnny Slash)
John Densmore

Songs you might remember:
I’m Tired

Why you should vote for them:
Music was a big part of this show, and an actual Door? Come on!

Why you should not vote for them:
Any TV Show that is one and done is a struggle to induct.

Johnny Karate

Johnny Karate
So what do you do when you fail at becoming a successful Rock and Roll act? You become a children’s singer, which can be hired for kid’s parties. This.is what we have with Johnny Karate (Chris Pratt) whose previous band, Mouserat are still looking for that big break. Maybe Karate is the next Raffi?

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Parks and Recreation (2012)

Actor:
Chris Pratt

Songs you might remember:
Found a Way

Why you should vote for him:
Chris Pratt is a comedic gem on this show.

Why you should not vote for him:
A children’s singer probably should not be inducted.

Ian Rubbish and the Bizzaros
From a Saturday Night Live Short, “Ian Rubbish and the Bizzaros” was a one note bit, but showed a historical perspective of an English Punk Band who became fans of the establishment. Incidentally, Rubbish (played by Fred Armisen) would receive an additional life elsewhere, but without the mainstream audience, does it really have a shot?

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Saturday Night Live (2011)

Actors:
Fred Armisen (Ian Rubbish)
Bill Hader (Derek Gash)
Taran Killan (Keith Grisham)

Songs you might remember:
Hey Policeman
Cunt in a Crown

Why you should vote for them:
SNL and Punk? We are all in!

Why you should not vote for them:
This was a one and done bit on SNL.
