With a handful of hits and constant comparisons to Nirvana, it will be interesting to see if Everclear receives any kind of consideration to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Our guess is that they won’t, as this was primarily a solid band that was able to gain a level of success and captured Grunge era angst as well as anyone the perception was that they weren’t leaders and this perception will have to drastically change in the next decade for them to gain notice from the Hall of Fame.

There are many who wouldn’t give a thought to any one named “DJ” for a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but as the words “Rock and Roll” constantly seems to change meaning, there may be a time when it won’t seem so foreign.  With that said, DJ Shadow is not just any DJ, but one who has pushed the boundaries of the turntable and became one of the most sought after DJs in the industry.  Should any turntable master get into the Hall DJ Shadow is as good a choice as any.

As Alternative became commercially viable, so did forms of Alternative Pop.  With that, Counting Crows made a huge seemingly overnight splash with their debut record that was often compared to Van Morrison, The Band and R.E.M.  With that type of comparison, they received the type of dual success of being critically respected and commercially successful.  

If unique hybrids are what it takes to get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, than England’s Cornershop could receive a look.  Their blend of Dance, Indie Rock and Indian music created a different sound.  They were somewhat controversial and would not shy away from political or racial issues.  Their career deserves some kind of footnote, but they would be hard pressed to enter the Hall even if it was in London.
