Not in Hall of Fame News

On Sunday, the doors will close on the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana. The institution is not shutting down; rather it is moving south to Atlanta where it will reopen in 2014. The National Football Foundation is making the move as the crowds (thus revenue) were nowhere what they hoped it would be when it moved it there from Ohio in 1995. This leaves South Bend with a large downtown facility with no tenant. The College Football Hall has always (and always will be) in the shadow of the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.…
Piles upon piles of articles have come out questioning the candidacy of PED users on this year’s Hall of Fame ballot. The word “integrity” is coming up constantly, in the form of writers, fans and other former players stating that players who took Performance Enhancing Drugs lacked integrity (which is supposed to be a criteria to get into the Hall) and should not be granted entry. As it stands now, the players referred to as “cheaters”, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Roger Clemens who have that label are not likely to get in this year; the vote tallies for Mark…
The main crux of this website has always been “Who is not in the Hall of Fame?” As such, we thought it was time to take a look at the existing Halls of Fame and look at their history and just who IS in the Hall of Fame. We have started with the Hockey Hall of Fame (we thought the sport needed a bit of extra love these days) and we will look at it year by year. With each inductee, you can vote as to whether that player or builder should be in the Hall, or whether they should…
As you have noticed, we have added the 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017 Basketball Futures. Well, onward and upward here at notinhalloffame.com and we have now uploaded the 2018 group. This is quite the impressive group and could see multiple entries. They are: Antoine Walker Ben Wallace Brad Miller Mehmet Okur As always, you know what to do! Check them out and cast your votes and give your opinions.
It looks like we have to change our logo again! When we began our website, Alice Cooper “represented” the Rock and Roll section of our logo of a musical icon snubbed by the Hall of Fame. As Cooper got in, we changed it to Rush. We are happy that we will be changing it again! As you are aware, the newest class for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is out, and to us (and many others we are sure), Rush has finally entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This was the first year that they were…
We would like to congratulate the newly announced International Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2013. It is headlined by the late Arturo “Thunder” Gatti who died a few years ago under what remains unusual circumstances. The Italian born, Canadian raised pugilist won the IBF Super Featherweight and WBC Light Welterweight straps and four times was in the “Fight of the Year” Gatti is joined by five time World Champion, Virgil Hill, who won a Silver Medal for the United States in the 1984 Olympics and defended the Light Heavyweight Title 20 times. The Class of 2013 also includes former…
As you have noticed, we have added the 2014, 2015 & 2016 Basketball Futures. Well, onward and upward here at notinhalloffame.com and we have now uploaded the 2017 group. This is quite the impressive group and could see multiple entries. They are: Allen Iverson Antonio McDyess Peja Stojakovic Shaquille O’Neal Yao Ming Zydrunas Ilgauskas As always, you know what to do! Check them out and cast your votes and give your opinions.
Minnesota Vikings Punter, Chris Kluwe has never been shy with his opinions. He wrote “Vote Ray Guy” on his jersey patch that commemorates the Hall’s 50th anniversary. Guy, who has been universally labeled as the greatest punter ever never, got into the Hall despite being a semi-finalist multiple times. In fact, there is no football player who was strictly a punter who has been enshrined in Canton. Kluwe called the Hall of Fame a “sham” and added that he would not “support a Hall of Fame that doesn’t have a punter in it”. He went on to say that sysyem…
As you have noticed, we have added the 2014 and 2015 Basketball Futures. Well, onward and upward here at notinhalloffame.com and we have now uploaded the 2016 group. Now granted, this is not a very large one as we only have two players (like 2015) who will be eligible that year for your consideration. They are: Michael Finley Steve Francis As always, you know what to do! Check them out and cast your votes and give your opinions.
It seems every Baseball Hall of Famer has a position on PED users for entry to Cooperstown.  Of course, with this year’s ballot, can we really be surprised? Recently Barry Larkin, who was inducted last year, told the Associated Press that “If you cheated you made a decision” and did not deserve to get in.  He was specifically referring to Sosa, Clemens and Bonds who are on this year’s Hall of Fame ballot and have been directly linked to Performance Enhancing Drugs.  The former Cincinnati Reds star is not alone.  Yesterday, Andre Dawson, who was himself inducted in 2010,…
