From the poorly received film adaptation of Josie and the Pussycats, we have one of the most clueless group of “musicians” in the form of the successful Boy Band, Du Jour. They were killed in a plane crash as they learned that subliminal messages were being piped into their music and we guess that because they stood up against it, at least we can say that they are ethical. What that means to this Hall of Fame is up to you. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Josie and the Pussycats (2001) Actor: Breckin Meyer (Marco) Donald Faison (DJ) Seth Green (Travis) Alex Martin (Les) Songs you might remember: Backdoor Lover Why you should vote for them: They were so cheesy…..that they were good. Why you should not vote for them: Boy Bands are awful no matter what. {youtube}

In the independent film, A Slipping-Down Life, Drumsticks Casey (Guy Pearce) was the object of affection (or stalking) of a shy wall flower Evie Decker (Lily Taylor). Her pursuit allows her to break out of her shell, and we do hear some of his music, but like so many other acts like on this ballot, you can only expect so much support from an independent film. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: A Slipping-Down Life (1999) Actor: Guy Pearce Songs you might remember: Start Again Why you should vote for him: We can argue that his music was so powerful that it gained him a stalker. Why you should not vote for him: That stalker was Lily Taylor. {youtube}

Clearly influenced by Oasis, Drive Shaft was a one hit wonder who was featured on the hit program, Lost. Through flashbacks in the show, we learned that sex and drugs (what else) rendered the band irrelevant, but through featured Lost character, Charlie Pace we learned a lot about that band and that lone hit. Frankly, never has a one hit wonder had a better chance at a Hall of Fame than this. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Lost (2004-10) Actors: Dominic Monaghan (Charlie Pace) Neil Hopkins (Liam Pace) And two others we assume…. Songs you might remember: You All Everybody Why you should vote for them: When you are in a television show this popular, this has to be a solid contender. Why you should not vote for them: A one hit wonder has to struggle for any Hall of Fame. {youtube}

Jason Bateman’s first shot in a leading role was in a pre Ferris Beuller role as a young con man in a 1984 Sitcom, It’s Your Move. The show only lasted one season, but it is still a favorite among many for the era, and when it is discussed, usually it is the “Dregs of Humanity” who are referenced. The Dregs were actually science class skeletons that Bateman put together to appear at the school dance after his dufus friend (Eli) lost the money to hire the original band. With fog, lights, lots of string and prerecorded Heavy Metal, the band was a hit, and is actually interviewed by Norman (who played Bateman’s mother’s boyfriend), which would be sold to Rolling Stone Magazine. The band is killed off when they no show a sold out concert (remember, they were an instant hit) and it is later revealed that they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now how can we ignore them for the Fictitious Hall with that nugget of information? The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: It’s Your Move (1984-85) Actors: None…they were skeletons! Songs you might remember: Nothing. Why you should vote for them: We are going to play the card they fictitiously entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Why you should not vote for them: They are skeletons! {youtube}
