The New York Mets Will Retire Mike Piazza's Number.

Recently the Seattle Mariners announced that Ken Griffey Jr. will have his number retired by the organization; this following his selection to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Ken Griffey Jr. was not the only 2016 inductee as former Major League Catcher, Mike Piazza will be joining him. Piazza will also enjoy a similar accolade, as the New York Mets have announced that they will be retiring his number.
Piazza joined the New York Mets following a trade from the Florida Marlins in 1998 and over a nearly 1,000 Game Career with the Mets, Piazza earned six All Star nods and three Silver Slugger Awards. He would accumulate 1,028 Hits, 220 Home Runs, with a Slash Line of .296/.373/.542 Slash Line with a bWAR of 30.5.
The retirement of Mike Piazza’s number #31 will be the fourth Met to have his number retired. This follows Tom Seaver, Gil Hodges and Casey Stengel to have this accolade.
The ceremony will take place prior to a game against the Colorado Rockies on July 30th.

We here at Notinhalloffame.com thought it would be fun to take a look at the major awards in North American team sports and see how it translates into Hall of Fame potential.
Needless to say, different awards in different sports yield hall of fame potential. In basketball, the team sport with the least amount of players on a roster, the dividend for greatness much higher. In baseball, it is not as much as a great individual season does not have the same impact.

Burton Cummings to be Inducted into the Canadian Music HOF

The Canadian Music Hall of Fame has announced the latest entry to their institution and it is a name who has already has been inducted.
Burton Cummings, who was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame previously with the Guess Who in 1987, will now be inducted for his solo work, which began in 1976 after he left Guess Who.
Cummings did not have the same success in the United States as he did with the Guess Who, though he did go to number ten with his first single, “Stand Tall”. In his native Canada, Cummings would have five top twenty hits, including “Stand Tall”, “Break it to Them Gently”, “I Will Play a Rhapsody”, “Fine State of Affairs” and “Take One Away”.
Cummings will be honored with a tribute at the Juno Awards on April 3.

Ice Cube says that N.W.A. will perform at the RRHOF

Ice Cube and Kevin Hart were guests on the Graham Norton show, and while much of the attention resulting from it were on Ice Cube’s take on the Academy Awards only nominating white actors, we found something far more interesting for our purposes.
“We are playing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and then there is Coachella, and I'm going to try and get all the guys together and do an amazing show”
We don’t know about you, but considering that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame constantly has inducted acts fail to perform due to bickering or other personal issues, the fact that N.W.A. will be performing is of great value to us.
As always, we here at Notinhalloffame.com will be watching the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony and are sure that many of you will be doing the same.
Thankfully, we have another reason to watch!
