J. J. McClure

J.J. McClure
J.J. McClure was not necessarily the best driver in the Cannonball Run, but wasn’t he the coolest? He got the ladies (in her prime Farrah Fawcett), befriended the geek (Dom DeLuise) and was the focal hero of the motley crew of racers from Connecticut to California; AKA, the Cannonball Run. As much as the Burt Reynolds of 1981 was fairly close to being as big an icon of cool as there was, we have one pivotal question for J.J. McClure:

Since the race was based on time cards, and they appeared to be the last vehicle to leave Connecticut, did Captain Chaos not have time to save the dog, and still punch the clock ahead of the well-endowed Adrianne Barbeau? So, had he not yelled at Chaos, and instead just grabbed the card, couldn’t he still have won? Wait a minute; did we just dissect the Cannonball Run?

Even though this is a film that empowers women and speaks from a strong feminist message, is it totally wrong that our favorite part of the movie is just watching the lovely, Michelle Rodriguez launch her career as the Latina tough girl in film and television? Frankly, that is enough for us!

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Girlfight (2000)

Actor:
Michelle Rodriguez

Why you should vote for her:
She might be the toughest female on the ballot.

Why you should not vote for her:
How many people watched this movie anyway?

Danny Flynn

When Daniel Day-Lewis heads the marquee, you know you are in for a spectacle of great acting. Despite the name of the movie (The Boxer), the film really is not about triumph in the ring, though Day-Lewis took method acting far, and looked about as convincing as a boxer as any actor who ever donned the gloves. We will say that if acting skills is a part of your voting decision, we would not be surprised to see Danny Flynn enter our Hall.

You know what the great thing about this movie was for Vivica A. Fox? As the critics (correctly) roasted this turd, the lovely Miss Fox was spared the shrapnel from the film, and continued to have a decent career. With all of that said…regular visitors to Notinhalloffame.com may already know what we think of the WNBA. Is there any reason to think that a player from a fictitious WUBA (their version of the WNBA) team should get in here?

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Juwanna Mann (2002)

Actor:
Vivica A. Fox

Position Portrayed:
Point Guard (We Think)

Played for:
Charlotte Banshees

Why you should vote for her:
She was in Kill Bill….sorry, that’s all we got.

Why you should not vote for her:
This movie was God awful.
