As part of the New York Mets’ “Generation K”, much was expected of Jason Isringhausen and though he did not meet expectations as a Starting Pitcher, he did become a very effective Relief Pitcher, making two All Star Games, and leading the National League in Saves in 2004. Isringhausen would record 300 career Major League Saves in total, and another 11 in the Post Season.

Wine and scotch got better with age, and for years the sporting world thought Jamie Moyer did too. He holds multiple pitching records in regards to the oldest pitcher to do (insert accomplishment here) and is one of the rare players to have competed in four decades.

Jack Wilson had a few good seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates, one of which saw him participate in the All Star Game and earn Silver Slugger honors. Wilson had a decent career overall, and once led the National League in Triples and twice in Sacrifice Hits. He also was more than an above average defender, leading the NL in Defensive bWAR in 2005. Wilson, whose career bWAR was 23.5, likely won’t receive a vote for the Hall of Fame, but did contribute for a few years in the dark days of the Pirates organization.

Primarily used as a Middle Reliever in his career, the highlight of J.C. Romero’s career was in 2008, where he won two games in the World Series and did not allow a run over four and two thirds innings. Romero would have a career bWAR of 7.7.
