The “Player to be Named Later” doesn’t often amount to much.  Michael Brantley was that player, as he was an eventual throw-in to deal C.C. Sabathia to Milwaukee.  It was one hell of an add-on.

Brantley made the Majors in 2009, and it was two years later where he became Cleveland's starting Leftfielder.  He reached 150 Hits and a .280 Batting Average in both 2012 and 2013, which was decent, but he had a great season in the chamber to come.

In 2014, Brantley made the All-Star Game and increased his totals to personal highs in Hits (200), RBIs (97), Batting Average (.327), On Base Percentage (.385), and Slugging Percentage (506).  Brantley also belted 20 Home Runs, won a Silver Slugger with a third-place finish in MVP voting.  Brantley did not equal this year, but he led the AL in Doubles (45) in 2015.

Shoulder problems held him to only 11 Games in 2016, but he was back to being an All-Star in 2017 and 2018, batting .299 and .309 in those years, respectively.

With Cleveland, Brantley collected 1,195 Hits with 87 Home Runs.
