Sting

As of this writing (Spring 2013) Sting is still very much an active competitor in TNA Wrestling, but as he is well into his 50’s, we feel comfortable with ranking him at this time. When it is all said and done, Sting may never wrestle a match under the WWE banner, and though that will disappoint many fans, this is the guy who helped carry World Championship Wrestling in their lean years, and was the good guy opposition against the initial run of the New World Order.

Overall, Sting may very well be one of the greatest babyfaces in wrestling history. More importantly he was able to have great matches with monsters (like Vader), brawlers (like Mick Foley) and technical wonders (like Ric Flair) and though he is respected as a worker, he is very much undervalued. The WWE has inducted performers who did very little in a WWE ring, but never anybody in the current era. Sting will likely be the first.

Should Sting be in the WWE Hall of Fame?

Definitely put him in! - 73.3%
Maybe, but others deserve it first. - 6.7%
Probably not, but it wouldn't be the end of the world. - 13.3%

Jeff Jarrett

First off, how the hell did TNA Wrestling start a Hall of Fame WITHOUT Jeff Jarrett as the first inductee? That aside, with the way Jeff Jarrett left the WWE (he held them up for a quarter of a million when his contract ran while still the IC Champ), the WWE Hall of Fame seems like a long shot.

292. Buff Bagwell

Buff Bagwell’s one week stint in the WWE may have been a disaster, but Buff Bagwell had a ten year run in WCW where he won many titles, became an entertaining performer and was on the cusp of main event stardom. It didn’t happen, but he did a lot more in World Championship Wrestling than most people remember.

76. “Whipper” Billy Watson

Arguably the first major star from the nation of Canada, “Whipper” Billy Watson was a fixture in main eventer in the hallowed Maple Leaf Gardens for nearly two decades and was also the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.  Watson would be an excellent choice for the new Legends Wing and one representing the great history of Toronto and Canadian wrestling in general.
