116. Salvador Lutteroth

The WWE Hall of Fame has recognized Mil Mascaras and they have had working agreements with Mexican promotions before.  The Hall has also inducted former promotors.  Could this be the combination that could induct Salvador Lutteroth?

Lutteroth was the founder of EMLL (now CMLL) which is the oldest promotion in Mexico and he is credited with being the modern father of Lucha Libre.  His booking and promoting skills propelled the Mexican wrestling scene to huge heights as well as the career of El Santo and others.  While he slowly gave control to his son in the mid-50’s he remained active and retired in 1987.  Without question, his influence is still being felt today.

The Bullet Points

  • Billed From: Colotlan, Mexico
  • Why they will get in: He ticks off a lot of the boxes.
  • Why they won't get in: A huge promotor in Mexico may not mean a lot to the WWE.
