Ellen Aim

Ellen Aim
Diane Lane was at her sultry best as Ellen Aim, a Rock singer who is the subject of a kidnapping in the 1984 cult film, Streets of Fire. We can’t say we exactly remember anything that she sang, but we do remember how she looked. We wonder what that is worth here.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Streets of Fire (1984)

Actor:
Diane Lane

Songs you might remember:
Tonight is what it Means to be Young

Why you should vote for her:
We will argue that she was the best part of the movie.

Why you should not vote for her:
She did not even make the soundtrack. That is a big reason right there.

The Electric Shoes

Electric Shoes The
Another brief TV band with limited skill, The Electric Shoes was Kevin Arnold’s first (and only) attempt to be a Rock Star. Joining up with the new kid in town from California, the Garage rockers scored a gig at a 7th grade birthday party which lasted all of five seconds. The band broke up a week later.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
The Wonder Years (1990)

Actors:
Fred Savage (Kevin Arnold)
Nobody else worth remembering

Songs you might remember:
Nothing

Why you should vote for them:
The attempted Rock Star in all of us can identify with the “Electric Shoes”.

Why you should not vote for them:
They were god awful.

Eight Mile Road

Eight Mile Road
First off, we wonder how many people clicked here, expecting to find Eminem here.

“Eight Mile Road” was the spoken word band in the respected film, Gridlock’d. Composed of a very good cast (Tupac Shakur, Thandie Newton & Tim Roth), the film did not catch on, as perhaps watching struggling heroin addicts is not the best way to spend two hours. Musically, the trio was not bad in the bits we saw, but we wonder just how many people saw this at all.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Gridlock’d (1997)

Actors:
Tupac Shakur (Ezekiel “Spoon” Whitmore, Bass & Backup Vocals)
Tim Roth (Alexander “Stretch” Rawland, Piano)
Thandie Newton (Barbara “Cookie” Cook, Vocals)

Songs you might remember:
Life is a Traffic Jam

Why you should vote for them:
Overall, they were not bad.

Why you should not vote for them:
Many did not view this, and all three had numerous roles worth remembering more.

Eddie Winslow

Eddie Winslow
At no point during the 1990’s did we ever figure out the phenomenon of Steve Urkel, and decades later we are even more confused. On his show, Family Matters, we had forgotten that Eddie Winslow could sing, and probably because the only thing that everyone remembers is that damned Urkel. Amazingly, in going through the research it turned out he wasn’t half bad, but again this was the Urkel show so it isn’t like anyone remembered.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Family Matters (1989-97)

Actor:
Darius McCrary

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for him:
He was not a bad singer.

Why you should not vote for him:
Urkel. That is the only reason you need.
