Belle & Sebastian

The music critics absolutely love them, and it is easy to see why. Their dreamy brand of Pop was about as pretty as it came and this was not meant to be a negative. This gentle type of music was perfect for the Indie scene, yet was not type of music that was meant for the Adult Contemporary stations. As long as they stay on their current course, this could be the perfect test of critical acclaim against non-American commercial success.

Basement Jaxx

It took a while for Basement Jaxx to achieve some International success, but once they did they were able to create Hose staples that may very well stand time’s ultimate test. Many who hear Basement Jaxx for the first time only think of them as a group that only did House music, but they pushed that genre’s edge more than they got credit for.

The Bouncing Souls

Although they did establish themselves on the concert circuit supporting other Indie/Punk bands like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and NOFX (and held their own quite well), there is only so far a fun party Punk band will go in a Hall of Fame discussion, especially when those they opened for are quite far from the Hall themselves.

Snow

It is hard for us to really take Snow seriously as his biggest hit is featured prominently on out Worst Songs list, but he did reach number one internationally and anyone who can do so will likely always warrant a place on out Future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame lists. Realistically, if he came out five years after when the racial divide in music softened, would he have been such a joke?
