Normally a novelty band wouldn’t get consideration from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs were not your traditional group. In fact, they may have been the greatest Garage band ever.

Okay, the above statement may be a little bold, but they have been called that by some. They were a Garage Rock band at their core, singing about nonsensical topics but in a fun blistering way that was fun and most importantly, pure Rock and Roll. A much better band than given credit for, Sam the Sham brought a flavor of Tex Mex style into some of his songs that really hadn’t been done before. If the Hall wants to enshrine a wild Frat Rock band and look back towards the nostalgic early 60’s, this could be a surprise entrant to the Hall in the future.
