Allow us this open letter to any successful actor and actress who may stumble across this site.  If you think you can sing, you can’t.  If you are offered a record deal based on your acting success, don’t take it.  The money isn’t worth the long time ridicule that your sycophants are not warning you about.  Now if only Don Johnson had people like us in the mid 80’s.

At the height of Miami Vice, Don Johnson was everywhere and looked to cash in on his second crack at stardom.  This led to unsuccessful movies, but for our purposes it led to an awful album with an even worse lead single, Heartbeat.   Complete with every soft rock cliché, Johnson was completely out of his element and stripped of the cool that he had cultivated so quickly as “Sonny Crockett” on Miami Vice.  It was hard to take him as a cool bad ass after that, and his adventures with Tubbs was no longer watchable after that.

If only other actors took our advice.  Sigh.
