35. Black Eyed Peas
My Humps
Highest Billboard Position:
#3 in 2005

Do you remember when the Black Eyed Peas were a respected Hip Hop outfit?  Neither do they.  Prior to the hiring of Stacy Ferguson, the Black Eyed Peas were a appreciated (all be it unsuccessful in term of sales) Hip Hop group.  Due to a lack of sales, they altered their sound, hired a hot girl and literally redefined the term of “selling out” in the music industry.

As they sold out record after record and arena after arena, the Black Eyed Peas degenerated into to the lowest common musical denominator in every possible capacity.  They may have hit a new low in a song about Fergie’s humps.  Apparently, she is so hot that the other members of the Peas are incapable of doing anything else but worshiping her “little lumps”.  It also apparently made them forget how to write good music.

The movie/TV dialog analog is "here's the thing." Getting tired of hearing that one again and again.

Is there anything more annoying in music than when Fergie says "Check it out,"? The sad thing is, this happens in multiple songs.

Can't dispute the awfulness, but I have to wonder: Who green-lighte d this idea? Were there copious amounts of cocaine being consumed in the studio? Yeesh. And not only does "lovely lady lumps" not sound flattering, but didn't anyone think that associating "lumps& quot; with breasts might suggest . . . cancer? True, this song is a cancer on the face of pop culture . . .
