One of our pet projects, the Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the Semi-Finalists for the Class of 2020, which will be the 6thfull class.   The Semi-Finalists were decided by all of you, after being pared down from other 500 Preliminary Nominees. COVID-19 strikes again. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced today will not have an induction ceremony for the Class of 2020. Originally, the Cleveland based institution had planned their ceremony on May 2, but with the pandemic, it was rescheduled to November 7.  As it looks like COVID-19 is not going away anytime soon, the call was made to have an exclusive special airing on HBO instead. The career of Vince Carter is officially over. We already knew this, as the COVID-19 virus wiped out the season, and as talks to resume play in the NBA began, it was early established that eliminated teams like Carter’s Atlanta Hawks would not be part of the resumption.  The 43-year old had already stated that this would be his last year.   Carter played his college ball at North Carolina where he was a First Team All-ACC Selection in 1998.  He was drafted fifth overall in 1998 by the Golden State Warriors who swapped him in a draft-day trade to the Toronto Raptors.…

The NASCAR Hall of Fame announced today that four new members will be joining their institution. The group of three drivers and one executive is headlined by Dale Earnhardt Jr., who was chosen in his first year of eligibility.   Earnhardt Jr. is the son of racing legend, Dale Earnhardt, who is also in the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Earnhardt Jr. proved that the apple did not far from the tree as he was one of the most successful drivers of his era, winning 26 races on the NASCAR Cup Series.  His signature wins included four consecutive wins at Talladega and won the…
