Not in Hall of Fame

Jody Hamilton, known professionally as “The Assassin” passed away at the age of 82.  He had been in hospice care for the last month.

Hamilton began his pro wrestling career in 1957, but it was when he became teaming with Tom Renesto as the Assassins four years later that his career took off.  The tandem wrestled all across the United States for 12 years, collecting titled and main eventing numerous times.  They broke up when Renesto concentrated on booking, but Hamilton carried on as a single.  He would later resurrect the tag team, with Randy Colley and Hercules Hernandez serving as his partners.

Following his retirement as an active wrestler, Hamilton would work briefly as a manager in WCW (for Paul Orndorff and Paul Roma), and would be the first head trainer at the WCW Power Plant.  He would also later own Deep South Wrestling from 2005 to 2007, which acted as a feeder system to the WWE.

We here at Notinhalloffame.com would like to extend our condolences to the fans, friends and family of Jody Hamilton.
