From Australia, Bogut played his college ball at Utah, where he was named the MWC Player of the Year and National College Player of the Year. He was taken First Overall in the 2005 Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, where he played his first seven seasons and had his best individual statistical success.
With the Bucks, Bogut had five double-digit years in Points per Game with three of them also exceeding that mark in Rebounds. Bogut led the NBA in Blocks per Game (2010-11), and the season before he was named to the All-NBA Third Team.
Bogut was traded to Golden State where injuries began to take their toll but he was still a good defensive player who helped the Warriors win the NBA Championship in 2015. After the 2015-16 season, he went to journeyman status, going to Dallas, Cleveland, the Lakers, Sydney (Australian League) and Golden State.
Internationally, he played for Australia in the 2004, 2008 & 2016 Olympics. Bogut had hoped to represent Australia in the 2020 Olympics, but COVID-19 but a stop to that. He is not likely to make the Hall of Fame, but he is eligible in 2023.
We here at Notinhalloffame.com wish Andrew Bogut the best in his post-playing career.
