Top 50 Florida Panthers

South Beach may have taken over the Basketball world for a spell, but there was a brief time in 1996 when an upstart expansion team made the Stanley Cup Finals and almost shocked the world of hockey by winning the entire thing.

The Florida Panthers did not win the Cup, but hockey historians still remember their achievements in such a short time, and this should be celebrated.

After that brief run near the top, the Panthers faltered. By the late 2010s, they were building a powerful team, and in 2024, they returned to the Stanley Cup Finals. This time, the result was different, as they defeated the Edmonton Oilers.  The season after was a repeat, with Florida again besting the Oilers, and winning their second straight Cup.

Note: Hockey lists are based on an amalgamation of tenure, traditional statistics, advanced statistics, playoff statistics, and postseason accolades.

This list is up to the end of the 2024-25 Season.

The career of Tomas Vokoun as a Florida Panther is not as celebrated nearly as much as it should be.  Perhaps it was because he led the NHL in Losses twice as a Panther, and that he is known for the blooper clip of being injured by his own teammate,…
A third round pick in 2011, American Center, Vincent Trocheck made his NHL debut two years later with the Florida Panthers.  Two years later, Trocheck scored 53 points and repeated the performance the following season with 54, earning a trip to the All-Star Game.  Trocheck showed that he was a…

Sam Bennett was a trade deadline deal from Calgary in 2021, and it was a great fit for the veteran Center who finished the year with 15 Points in 10 Games.  Since then, Bennett has played his best hockey, putting forth four consecutive 40-plus Point years with a physical style…
Drafted late in the Seventh Round in 2013, Defenseman MacKenzie Weeger plied his trade in the minors for three years before he appeared in three Games for the Panthers in 2016-17.  Just doing that was an accomplishment considering where Weegar was selected, but he had bigger things in mind. Weegar made…

The 10th overall draft pick from the 1995 Draft, Czech-born forward Radek Dvorak was young, but he helped the Florida Panthers reach their first ever Stanley Cup.   Dvorak would prove to be a good two-way player and decent on the shorthanded side of the ice, and was productive in both…

A surefire first ballot Hall of Famer, we thought that when Jaromir Jagr was traded from New Jersey during the 2014-15 season, that this would be where he finished his NHL career.  That would not be the case, but the ageless one proved in Florida that he still had a lot of…
