Swedish-born Defenseman Oscar Klefbom was one of the Oilers’ best shutdown Defensemen, who rarely got costly penalties (or any penalties at all) to affect his team negatively.
Klefbom was drafted 19
th overall in 2011, and he spent time in the Swedish league for a couple of years. He would debut for Edmonton in the 2013-14 campaign. A fulltime fixture by the following year, Klefbom used his size and positioning to become a very good player at his position and a fixture on the power play. In seven years, Klefbom has scored 156 Points, but a chronic shoulder injury would force him to retire prematurely.
