46. Mickey Redmond

Mickey Redmond was a member of two Stanley Cup winning teams in Montreal, but he was dealt to Detroit for Frank Mahovlich in January of 1971.  This ended the era of playoff participation for Redmond, but as a Red Wing, he had his greatest individual success.

Redmond scored 71 Points in his first full year in Detroit, which he grew to 93 Points in 1972-73, his best year in Hockey.  The Right Wing lit the lamp 51 times that year while leading the NHL in Even Strength Goals (37), and he was a First Team All-Star.  Redmond dropped to 77 Points the year after, but he still had 51 Goals with a league-leading 21 on the Power Play.

Redmond suffered back problems in 1975, and it degenerated to the point where he retired after the end of the 1975-76 Season at the age of 28.  He scored 309 Points for Detroit.
