gold star for USAHOF

42. Andre Savard

42. Andre Savard

After three years with the Boston Bruins, Quebec-born Center, Andre Savard joined the Buffalo Sabres in 1976, bringing another French Canadian to their roster.

Savard's first year in Buffalo was strong with 60 Points, but the next three years would see a dramatic drop, falling to 13 Points in 33 Games in 1979-80.  He would bounce back with his best NHL season, posting career-highs in Goals (31), Assists (43), Points (74), and Plus/Minus (+33), and it was on the strength of this campaign that got Savard on this list.

He played two more years with the Sabres before he was traded to the Nordiques, and as a Sabre, he scored 305 Points.
