Jurassic 5

A major player in the Alternative Hip Hop in the late 90’s, Jurassic 5 was one of the critical favorites of their day, although not a commercial one. It was not for a lack of effort as they had a major label and played festivals that should have expanded their audience, but for whatever reason they never had that breakthrough the mass populace. Long since disbanded, it is quite unlikely to happen now.

Goldfinger

Deep in the shadows of Sublime and Rancid, Goldfinger was part of the third wave of the Ska Revival. Although they were far from those other bands in ways of success, they did manage to receive a decent level of fans. With that said, how many bands that are in other’s shadows are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Dishwalla

Essentially a one hit wonder, Dishwalla had a few albums in the late 90’s and early 00’s that sold moderately well. Music wise they a soulful Post Grunge sound that to some may have strayed a little far towards Adult Contemporary, but that did allow them to reach an audience that may not have been made available to them normally. Realistically, they only had one hit, although it is curious why they did not have at least a couple more.

Carbon Leaf

A Celtic infused Adult Alternative group, Carbon Leaf may very well be one of the most technically proficient bands that you never heard of. They have recently managed to gather more attention, but they have a long way to go to even be remotely considered for any kind Hall of Fame, let alone the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
