Jenny MacArthur

Jenny MacArthur
We will say this: Often when women on television or movies can perform successfully in a pool or fantasy league, it is usually by accident. This was not the case with Jenny MacArthur, who knew her sports and did not win by picking the color of the uniform. We respect that, and wonder if we can marry her.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
The League (2009-)

Actor:
Kate Aselton

Role Portrayed:
Fantasy Football Team Owner

Why you should vote for him:
Again, we love women who know sports.

Why you should not vote for him:
The same for all “League” characters; this is a hit on a relatively small channel, and has not been seen by many.

Jake Shuttlesworth

Jake Shuttlesworth
As the father of highly recruited Basketball prospect, Jesus Shuttlesworth, Jake Shuttlesworth (Denzel Washington) is granted a week of parole by the Governor in exchange for a reduced sentence, providing he can convince his gifted son to play for the Governors’ alma mater.

The highlight for us was the one on basketball game that Denzel had with his son (Ray Allen), and even though we enjoyed the dramatic aspects of the film, we know we aren’t alone in fast forwarding to the climatic one on one hoops match.   Actually, we probably weren’t the only ones rooting for Denzel.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
He Got Game (1998)

Actor:
Denzel Washington

Role Portrayed:
Father of Jesus Shuttlesworth

Why you should vote for him:
It was great acting and a great athletic scene.

Why you should not vote for him:
He did lose at the end.

Jack Rose

Jack Rose
A thinly veiled take off of Jim Rome, Jack Rose essentially represented the media in “Any Given Sunday”. Was it a fair representation? No, not at all, but it was an entertaining one.

Irv Blitzer
An American did coach the Jamaican Bobsled Team in 1988, but he didn’t win the Gold in 68 nor was he disqualified in 72. The real coach was also not disgraced and became as obese as….let’s say…John Candy.

Regardless, Candy is a comedic legend and was hired to present a contrast to the Jamaicans bobsledders in a family friendly way. It was not Candy’s funniest role, but he delivered what was needed.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Cool Runnings (1993)

Actor:
John Candy

Role Portrayed:
Coach of the Jamaican Bobsled Team

Why you should vote for him:
It is a way to honor Candy.

Why you should not vote for him:
He was a reluctant mentor, and there are better coaches on the ballot.
