Lehtinen’s legacy is being one of the more solid two-way players in hockey, and his three Frank J. Selke Trophies clearly reflected this. Lehtinen’s overall game was valuable to Dallas, and he scored over 500 Points for the team, which was a very good NHL career spent entirely in Dallas.
Internationally speaking, Jere Lehtinen represented Finland numerous times in the Olympics and World Cup. While he would not win an Olympic Gold, he was a four-time medalist with three Bronzes and a Silver. Throw in a World Cup Silver Medal and Jere Lehtinen is one of the most decorated International players in history.
He was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 2018.
