They also used to run shows on the west coast. But yeah, flying to Hawaii for one show was probably rather costly in comparison to touring the southern states by car.

Maybe that's what made it special, few of the stars were there for more than token apperances, but they made the most of it. It did leave a fan wanting more and getting good stuff while hoping for such and such wrestler to make an appearance.
It was a nice footnote. Overall, the impact isn't there, but it was fun. I had no idea Lars Anderson, the champion for most of the time I was watching, was one of wrestling's famed Anderson "family" as they would only mention Gene on occasion over on World Championship Wrestling on WTBS (well, Ole would) but never Lars.
