34. Ward Cuff

Ward Cuff was a multi-sport star at Marquette, where he was a boxer, a javelin thrower, and a Back, who competed in the first ever Cotton Bowl.  The New York Giants only had use for the latter skill, and they drafted him in the Fourth Round of the 1936 Draft.

Cuff became a swiss army knife for the Giants Offense, capable of passing, kicking, blocking, rushing, and receiving.  Cuff was usually used at the now-archaic Wingback position, and he would be a three-time Pro Bowl Selection, and he would help the Giants win the 1938 NFL Championship.  Defensively, he also recorded 13 Interceptions.

His number 14 was retired by the Giants but was brought back for Y.A. Tittle when he joined the team in 1961.  At the time of his departure (a trade to the Chicago Cardinals after the 1945 Season), Cuff was the Giants all-time leading scorer.
