You definitely can’t go by the statistics on this one.
The first major star for the Detroit Lions (or the Portsmouth Spartans, which is where he began), Dutch Clark was the main Quarterback for the Lions' first Championship in 1935.  Like so many football players back then, Clark had many roles and he would record over 2,700 Yards Rushing with three seasons seeing him finish first in Rushing Touchdowns.  The versatile one also had another 341 Receiving Yards with a total of 42 TDs from scrimmage.  Clark would also serve as the Player/Coach for the Lions for two years and was an inaugural inductee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  HIs number has also been long retired by the franchise, and he was naturally a part of the first group of the Pride of the Lions in 2009.
