The 2026 NFL season is here, and we have updated our Pre-Season Football Monitor.

As we have expanded our projects, we can’t say we've expanded the team behind the scenes!  As a result, we are a little behind on this one, and we could only post the top 50 of the Pre-Season Monitor at this time.

We will add more during the season (and yes, we know that defeats the purpose of pre-season), but thank you for your patience.

We have unveiled the Quarterbacks, Running Backs, and now Wide Receivers, of which there are nine.

Yes, we know that this is taking a while!

As many of you know, we at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the top 50 of each major North American sports team. That being said, we have existing Top 50 lists and consistently look to update them when necessary and based on necessity. As such, we are delighted to present our post-2023 revision of our top 50 Buffalo Bills.

As for all of our top 50 players in football, we look at the following:

1.  Advanced Statistics.

2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the National Football League.

3.  Playoff accomplishments.

4.  Their overall impact on the team and other intangibles that are not reflected in a stat sheet.

Last year, the Bills again made it to the playoffs but again fell short, having been knocked off by Kansas City in the second round.  The year gave us one new entrant and two elevations.

As always, we present our top five, which saw no changes:

Quarterback Josh Allen rose to #22 from #30. 

Wide Receiver Stefon Diggs rocketed to #29 from #45.  He is now with the Houston Texans.

The only new entrant is three-time Offensive Tackle Dion Dawkins, who first appears at #39.

Notably, Tremaine Edmunds has been dropped off the list.

Quarterback, Josh Allen, vaults eight spots to #30. This was the second year in a row that he led the NFL in Approximate Value.

The lone debut is Wide Receiver, Stefon Diggs, who enters at #45. He has been a Pro Bowler all three of his Bills campaigns.

In March 2020, the Buffalo Bills acquired Stefon Diggs after five successful seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. He was brought in for four draft picks, including a first-round selection. This trade sparked a significant transformation for both Diggs and the franchise, giving quarterback Josh Allen a top-tier receiver and quickly boosting Buffalo’s passing game into one of the most formidable aerial offenses in the league.

Diggs revolutionized elite route-running with precise footwork, quick bursts, and clever double-moves. Excelling at gaining separation early in his routes, he paired dependable, soft hands with intense competitiveness in contested catches. Whether lining up wide or in the slot, Diggs provided Allen with a reliable target capable of winning quick-slant duels under pressure, stretching defenses deep down the sideline, or extending plays after catching the ball.

Before joining the Bills, Diggs's career high was 1,130 receiving yards in a single season. His first season with Buffalo in 2020 surpassed those personal bests dramatically. Building quick rapport with Allen, Diggs led the NFL in receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535), marking the first time a Bills player achieved the league’s receiving double crown. His outstanding performance earned him his first Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro honors, cementing his role as the unquestioned, primary offensive playmaker.

Diggs upheld his elite performance over the next three seasons, leading Buffalo to back-to-back AFC East championships. In 2021, he achieved 103 receptions for 1,225 yards and a career-high 10 receiving touchdowns. He continued to improve in 2022, accumulating 108 catches for 1,429 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He capped off his Bills tenure in 2023 by tallying 107 catches for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns, securing his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection in four years in Buffalo. Across every single season in Western New York, Diggs surpassed 100 receptions and 1,100 receiving yards.

Although Buffalo achieved four consecutive playoff appearances and won division titles, they could not reach the Super Bowl. In April 2024, the Bills traded Diggs to the Houston Texans in a major deal. During his four seasons with the Bills (2020–2023), Diggs played in 65 regular-season games, totaling 449 receptions, 5,372 receiving yards, and 37 touchdowns, leaving a lasting legacy in one of the franchise's most productive offensive periods.

Stefon Diggs is an interesting player, isn’t he?

After establishing himself in Minnesota, Diggs played four years in Buffalo, where he was a Pro Bowl selection in each campaign and led the NFL in Receiving Yards in 2020 (1,535).  After an injury-plagued year in Houston in 2024, he rebounded in New England, with 1,013 Yards and a trip to the Super Bowl.   However…

Diggs was accused of assault by his personal chef, and while he was found innocent, drama followed him to the Super Bowl, where he and megastar Nicki Minaj broke up before the game.  Diggs was flat, and after he was released by the Patriots, we weren’t sure if he would find work; luckily for him, he did, as he joins the Washington Commanders this season.

Diggs is still capable of great production, and he will have to go the compiler route to make a late charge for the Hall.
