Played by No Doubt, they were “Snowed Out” (get it?) in an episode of Gossip Girl. What was their role? It was to play an 80’s band doing a comeback of sorts...or we think. OK, we will admit that we never saw Gossip Girl and it was through research that we ever found out that this existed. Still, that show was a hit, which means some of you watched this right? The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Gossip Girl (2009) Actors: No Doubt Songs you might remember: Stand and Deliver Why you should vote for them: It was a real band playing a real song. Why you should not vote for them: Realistically, this was a cameo, where they played themselves; not exactly fictitious. {youtube}

A satire of the Swinging London scene, “Smashing Time” gave us what we believe is the only screen credit of future Progressive Rock superstar, Steve Howe (from Yes). Here he is in a couple of brief scenes with his then Psychedelic band, Tomorrow where they were billed as the “Snarks”. The band actually was decent, though we admit had a member of the group not become part of Yes, they probably would not be on this ballot. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Smashing Time (1967) Actors: Tomorrow Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for them: The only reason is Steve Howe…and even then… Why you should not vote for them: Their songs were barely featured in this mediocre film. Not exactly a winning formula. {youtube}

Played by real rapper, Ludacris, Skinny Black was a successful Rap star from Memphis who has returned to his hometown over the July 4th Weekend. He is approached by DJay, a local pimp in the hopes of presenting his demo tape, which after he received he flushed down the toilet and after being confronted about it, informed the wannabe rapper that he never intended to do anything with it and he got pistol whipped because of it. Maybe he should have listened to the tape! The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Hustle & Flow (2005) Actor: Ludacris Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for him: Ludacris is a more than capable as an actor. Why you should not vote for him: He wasn’t the star of the film, and his raps were not part of the film. {youtube}

Played by the delicious Carey Mulligan, Sissy Sullivan was from the 2011 film, Shame, where her sultry version of New York, New York was enough to get her on this ballot. Seriously, it was that hot and worthy of a nomination!
